It's a sad day when one of your childhood heroe's passes away. I've got footage of me at age 4 or 5 dancing and miming to BAD. He seemed to be hated for what he wasn't than liked for what he was. R.I.P MJ

Impatient!

It appears I spoke too soon on the Laptop front and didn't here anything back from the computer-fixers. I'll try my best to keep you entertained with a few photos sent to me by the lovely Miss Sarah N from London.

Sarah's photos have appeared numerous times on WWS over the course of a year. Pretty stoked to have someone on the other side of the world thats handy with a camera.

I assume most of these are taken around East London (Hoxton I think) but I'm not too sure.

Sarah commented on the photo below saying it replaced the hummingbird Stencil above but didn't last as long.

Hopefully...

With a little bit of luck my Laptop will be fixed and ready to pick up tomorrow so I can do some serious blogging again. I apologise for the lack of posts of late but the laptop (although I am very grateful for it) I've borrowed only has 1 USB serial port and it gets a little fustrating plugging in and unplugging my camera and external hard drives etc. My patience is running thin.

I promise to update it as soon as I get my laptop back.

Ikon Slaps BMD

I hadn't seen Ikon around for a while after slowly weening myself off the addiction I had to the shop he works in so it was a nice surprise to see him in action again.

I think I've mentioned

in earlier posts how much I enjoy watching him paint.

Haha I overheard these kids in the photo below saying something along the lines of 'No-one better cap me or else' LOL OR ELSE WHAT? Left Bank isn't known for longevity so it was kinda awkward to hear that being said.

Although I love it how the younger ones are so passionate about what they're doing I don't think they knew that they were in the presence of a well respected established writer painting up the other end? Or maybe they did and that's why they felt comfortable enough to paint almost along side of him? Hmmmm

Oh god. I think im still recovering from Slope's second show at Manky Chops. But that was a given as an exhibit opening there is usually followed by an epic 2 day hangover. Great turn out and quite a few sales made for an awesome night.

LeftBank goes through stages of looking like shit for a few months, then something decent appears. I watched Sole painting this up for around 10mins but was put off by some of the other bystanders (no hard feelings dude but calm down every once and a while)

Slope 2009

Manky Chops Gallery are proud to present "Slope 2009", a show with a very impressive and fresh new range of acrylic on canvas works by our resident artist, Slope.
This will be Slopes second show at the Manky Chops Gallery, and if you were able to check out his 2008 exhibition you will no doubt be looking forward to seeing more!

What: "Slope 2009" Exhibition

Where: Manky Chops Gallery, 166a Cuba St, WGTN

When: Open night is Thursday 11th June, 7pm.

Exhibition runs until Saturday 27th June. Manky Chops is open from Tuesday to Friday 12 til 6pm and Saturday 12 til 4pm.

I've been pretty lazy on the posts lately and getting my laptop fixed has taken forever and a day. I've got loads and LOADS of stuff that need to be put up. AGHH separation anxuety is a bitch!

Emails

I was going through old emails deleting the ones that didnt apply anymore and I found one that had totally gone unnoticed about a graf exhibit that opened in April called 'Public Property' showing at 5 stories high (gallery) in the Saatch & Saatchi building corner Courtney Place and Taranaki streets.

Im confused as to how I could have missed something like that?!?!?!

The show features works by Juse1 Kerb Erase and Happy. Go and check it out before it closes July 2nd!

Love it or hate it?

My laptop is still sitting in the computer-fixers shop so Im scabbing internet from Pink Bits and Eek.

Last time I posted a series of photos of work by The BMD it created a bit of a sore point with a few individuals. Are they too commercial? Too obviously placed? Maybe I am bias? Who knows.... But we still love them.

Street love is alive and well!
