International

Sent to us from a friend and found via Arrested Motion.

Parisian street art pioneer Blek Le Rat has landed in San Francisco and yesterday afternoon blessed the exterior of the Tenderloin-located White Walls Gallery with a site-specific take on one of his “Beggars” stencils, similar to the works London residents may remember from ‘07. His joint show with the artist Above will debut this Saturday at White Walls alongside Hush at Shooting Gallery. Street installation pictures and show preview after the jump.

International

We're gonna go international on ya for this post.....

A friend sent me these photos of graf spots from his recent travels. Always good to see whats going on in other parts of the world.

Shepard Fairey MAY DAY

My Graf link Guru (you know who you are ) emailed me this flick found on Twitter of Shepard Faireys MAY DAY exhibit at Deitch Projects in
New York City. As you can tell by the photo it caused a roadblock.

After viewing THIS YOUTUBE VIDEO the crowd seemed in awe of the work displayed .... but somehow I don't agree with the quote made by the man in the queue about Shepard Fairey having the 'OBAMA ANGLE' wtf? This was also the last exhibit at the Dietch Projects.

Christian Guermy AKA C215 known for his intricate stencil work that have appeared the world over had a solo show in Rome (that closed today)

Faile and Bast held the NYC edition of their Deluxx Fluxx arcade exhibit/installation recently. Check out ARRESTED MOTION for more pics.... Wish it would visit NZ!

Although it has already been well documented I thought I'd mention it anyway.
The last remaining publicly visible Banksy stencil in Melbourne's Hosier Lane has been buffed. It has been stated that the stencil of a parachuting rat was applied outside of the legal area hence making it fair game for the council buff squad.
What are your thoughts on the matter?

IMO I find it strange that everyone is up in arms about it. Is it because of the monetary value OR the fame associated with the illusive artist? I'm positive that in the long and varied culture of Graffiti that this is and will not be the only piece of work that gets buffed by the authorities. Whether or not the artist is famous, worth thousands of pounds or adorns the living room walls of celebrities is beside the point. Better work gets buffed everyday. Wah wah wah

NEW YORK!!

It's not often I get the chance to post photos of work from overseas so when I heard that a friend would be in New York for a holiday I tried my best at begging him to get some snaps if he saw anything.

Impatient!

It appears I spoke too soon on the Laptop front and didn't here anything back from the computer-fixers. I'll try my best to keep you entertained with a few photos sent to me by the lovely Miss Sarah N from London.

Sarah's photos have appeared numerous times on WWS over the course of a year. Pretty stoked to have someone on the other side of the world thats handy with a camera.

I assume most of these are taken around East London (Hoxton I think) but I'm not too sure.

Sarah commented on the photo below saying it replaced the hummingbird Stencil above but didn't last as long.

(sorry it's small, left click it and you can view it bigger)

Yeahhhh! Check that SickBoy! (on the left)

Damn that's bad!

Wish me luck on getting my laptop back. If I don't im'a gonna to have to get Irate on them!

International : Mitte, Germany

These photos were taken by an acquaintance I had met through work who offered to snap some flicks while he was in Berlin, Germany. He mentioned that the area was called Mitte (German for Middle)

Back in Wellytown...

I went and saw ALTEREGO last night at The Paramount. Watching Graf documentaries makes me want to go out and paint! I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Graf or art in general. I'm going back next week!

...While in the theater I over heard the 2 guys sitting next to me say to one another 'I thought there would be some writers here' which made me laugh because they just needed to look a bit harder.

...Ive got to say welcome back to TheKidsPresent! Go check him out HERE
