A little bit of SOLE

I had planned to meet a friend for coffee at OffBeat on Left Bank when we were suprised to find a guy doing a huge multi layer stencil on the juice stand opposite from where we were sitting. We later found out that his name was Pete.
After a discussion of favourite brands of spraypaint with Mephisto Jones, he put me on to a guy named Sole whos first name was also Pete. I put two and two together and realised that we had been watching Sole at work without knowing it.
First time I had seen Sole's work was a big stencil paste-up of Che Fu on Manners Street then seeing his work up in Rex Royale on Cuba Mall. His multi layer stencils are amazing!

Doorway To Paradise

Like sticker combos, Doorways seem to be a popular choice with taggers and writers. Trying to get the whole door in the shot without losing perspective was a problem I encountered regulary.....that and people walking past who were oblivious to the fact I was trying to get a good photo and continued to get in the way.

DRYPNZ & CRACKEDINK Exhibit

" Do you ever question the thoughts the person next to you at an opening of a show? Do you ever question your own, or think do i fully understand the meanings of the artist is trying to portray? You might at some points want to simplify yourself and just go for the simple fact that you like the images being portrayed. This is all in question because the artist may be thinking the exact same thing about the people viewing his/her work. We here have asked a simple question and are asking it through our poster design. Our purpose built print “mistakes” are asking if the viewer is aware of their surrounding as much as they think they are, or their willingness to question and challenge what is often accepted as the norm."A small bit of stuff will be awarded to the person who on opening night whispers or exclaims these “mistakes” to myself, or Crackedink”

See you at the show!

A taste of whats to come

Zombies, Garret Street Carpark.

After opening a myspace account for all of my Graf photos this was the first photo I uploaded. The wall on which this is on gets buffed periodically but has managed to stay like this for quite a while. Its almost a free reign graf wall and changes all the time.

Surplus Bargains, Cuba Mall

This is one of the first paste ups that really caught my eye. Being in such a public place it had a good run and lasted for over a month. That almost makes it an antique in the Graffiti/Street Art world. Surplus Bargains

Drypnz, Dixon Street.

This picture turned out better than I thought it would. Being by a busy bus stop the light was never perfect but I chanced it. I took this photo while a bus had pulled up along side of me, the sun shone through the windows and gave the photo a column of light almost highlighting the pasted character on the tiles.

.....Im new here be gentle

I've been taking photos of Graffiti around Wellington for around a year now. After running a myspace site to showcase it all I've decided to branch out and get myself a dot com!

Im a little bit rusty but will get the hang of it no doubt!
