CC HQ

Went and visited the Cut Collective HQ for a chat and cup of tea (and to get some photos) while in Auckland. I was well impressed by the setup. It was good to see them working on future projects in the comfort of their own space.

Haha!

Thanks Cut Collective for being so hospitable and letting me rummage around in all your stuff.

I'll get back to the Wellington post's in the next few days.

Stens

Stencils usually appear around this time of year due to a new year of University starting up. Snapped these flicks just in time as I walked past an hour or 2 later and they had been buffed (apart from the TV stencil below)

Over-spray can really kill the overall look of a stencil, but still, It's not a bad effort.

Exit through the gift shop. A Banksy Production

I'm slightly dubious but just as excited about Banksy's film Exit through the gift shop. Judging by what a few graf/art blogs have said about it (and watching the trailer above) it's more about other artists than Banksy himself (Or themselves?)

Will keep you posted

A little bit of SOLE

I had planned to meet a friend for coffee at OffBeat on Left Bank when we were suprised to find a guy doing a huge multi layer stencil on the juice stand opposite from where we were sitting. We later found out that his name was Pete.
After a discussion of favourite brands of spraypaint with Mephisto Jones, he put me on to a guy named Sole whos first name was also Pete. I put two and two together and realised that we had been watching Sole at work without knowing it.
First time I had seen Sole's work was a big stencil paste-up of Che Fu on Manners Street then seeing his work up in Rex Royale on Cuba Mall. His multi layer stencils are amazing!
